These are extraordinary tools. 41% of all code written globally is now AI-generated. 92% of US developers use AI coding tools daily. This is a permanent shift in how software gets built.

But here’s the number buried in the hype: 63% of vibe coders are now non-developers. That 520% year-over-year growth in non-technical users means the majority of people building have no mental model for what happens after the demo works.

I talk to these people every day. SMB owners, operators, department leads who saw an opportunity to build something without waiting six months for a dev shop to quote them $80K.
